ResearchChannel was founded by a consortium of leading research and academic institutions to share the valuable work of their researchers with the public. ResearchChannel is now available to more than 30 million U.S. satellite and cable television subscribers. Our Web site is visited by more than 1.6 million visitors annually who log in from 210 different countries around the world.
Remarkable speakers, researchers and scholars present revolutionary thoughts and discoveries on ResearchChannel. The University of Michigan, the University of Washington and the National Science Foundation are just a few of the world-renowned institutions that participate and whose programs are featured. Do you have any volunteer opportunities?
Right now, ResearchChannel does not have volunteer opportunities. The best way to support the work we do is by considering making a tax-deductible contribution to the organization. You can find out more about ways to give.
How can I get a copy of your programs?
Send us e-mail and include the name(s) of the program(s) you would like a copy of. We will forward your request to the producer of the program.
Can I download your programs? Can I save programs to my computer or portable device?
ResearchChannel offers audio (MP3) and video (MPEG-4) podcast subscriptions, and allows you to subscribe by series or subject here. Please note that most programs added to our Web site prior to December 2006 are not currently available via podcast.
ResearchChannel is also making it easier to share your favorite videos through popular social bookmarking and news sharing services Del.icio.us, Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit and Facebook.
More ResearchChannel videos are also constantly being added to our new YouTube and iTunes U sites, both are bringing ResearchChannel to a wider audience than ever before.We expect to offer downloads, including podcasting, in early 2008. Can I share ResearchChannel videos? ResearchChannel encourages you to share our videos, but does not allow rebroadcasting or re-posting on the Web without permission.

Do your programs have closed captioning?
ResearchChannel programs are contributed by members of the ResearchChannel consortium and many include closed captioning. Programs that include closed captioning are broadcast and webstreamed with closed captioning. We are working with our members to identify and develop new technologies to assist us in providing this service on more of their programming.
Can I get a copy of a transcript for a program?
Not at this time, but we are working on making transcripts available.
Can you recommend a doctor for my medical condition?
As a media organization, we aren’t qualified to answer medical questions. We recommend contacting a medical facility in your area.
How can I receive more information on a medical procedure I saw in one of your programs?
We recommend you contact your physician to find out more about any of the procedures you see on ResearchChannel.
How does ResearchChannel make programming decisions?
All our programming comes from ResearchChannel members, which means you are watching only programs that reflect the latest insights and discoveries from leading research institutions.
How can my organization join ResearchChannel?

Can I submit a program to ResearchChannel?
All programming is submitted by ResearchChannel members, and we cannot accept submissions by outside parties. Learn more about becoming a member.
What is the relationship between ResearchChannel and the University of Washington?
The University of Washington is a member of the ResearchChannel consortium. ResearchChannel is based out of the University of Washington campus, but is a separate 501(c)3 organization.
